Hello, my name is Lucy Brown and I am proud to be the Executive Director of the Housing Authority of Billings. I wish to welcome you to our website. This website is to assist you with information about federally funded subsidized and low income housing in the Billings community.
The Housing Authority of Billings was created by the citizenry of the City of Billings, by approving a local referendum, in 1973. The Housing Authority is a public non-profit that primarily receives its funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Housing Authority of Billings is governed by a seven member board who are appointed by the Mayor of the City of Billings. The Board sets policy for the agency and hires the Executive Director to oversee the day to day administration of the organization. The Housing Authority has a 25 member staff who consist of department managers and frontline staff who are here to provide excellent customer service to our program participants and applicants. It is part of this staff that is bringing this user friendly website to you to assist you in your housing choices. I would like to thank Patti Miller Webster for her expertise and creativity in this website endeavor. We are proud to be the largest local Public Housing Authority in the State of Montana, and we are able to provide several low-income housing programs for you to choose from. We hope our website assists you with your housing needs in the Billings community.
Thank you,
Lucy Brown
